What kind of books would you all recommend for HTML, CSS and JavaScript (preferably beginner - advanced)?

I particularly enjoy books which have interactive portions, pictures are also a must since I'm a "visual learner".

I would recommend "The missing manual", published by O'Reilly. There's editions for HTML, CSS and JavaScript/JQuery. They were the books for a course in webdevelopment I took at the University. They're fairly easy to understand, and suits a beginner well. At the same time they proceed in a high pace, and presents good angles and perspectives in webdev, and teaches best-practices. I've used my copies a lot, and still am (they work pretty well as reference books).

Thanks for the recommendations. Didi, I usually use Udemy for free courses. I also study web design at college. In my spare time I like to experiment with programming languages and usually use coding books intended for kids, however in time I'll be able to move aside from the books and work on my own projects. Have you heard of Scratch?
