As for me, I'm guessing it's because they didn't have the time, or they're focusing their resources for other aspects but the blog. Not that plenty of human resources they have to divide into different fields.

It takes people with good writing expertise to maintain a blog, placing random stuffs just to keep it "alive" wouldn't do any good I suppose.

I also get the feeling that blogs don't get as much attention these days, as the majority of people switch to vlogs (just a thought).
