As much as I know, You need to learn HTML5, CSS and its frameworks(bootstrap, etc) ES6 Javascript and its frameworks (jquery, react, especially React if you talk about something like facebook) now while these will help you create the Design (UserInterface) for managing data of accounts, for adding Chats options, You will need to learn server-side languages like PHP, Sql Hadoop, Its not a 5 day journey but if you focus on your aim, You might as well achieve it as soon as possible, Best of luck
