Try software to search for viruses and Trojans on the computer. Google "malwarebytes" which is one of many. Make sure a firewall is running on the computer. It will usually give a popup warning if an external remote connection is trying to be made. But the simple rule is. NO ONE should ever call by phone and ask you to switch on your computer. EVER! It just DOES NOT happen. The caveat (exception) is, if you have called somewhere for genuine technical support and they assist you with your computer.
