Why we use <span> tag in Html?

what does a <span> tag do for us?

<span> is an inline element.
If you want to style a word or a line within a paragraph etc., you can make use of it.

Block level elements cannot be used inside inline elements but inline elements can be used inside block level elements.

Eg- of block level element is <div>.
