Should i take computer programming as my first career option?

Right, Um, im in 8th, IGCSE board, I have to choose my subjects in a couple of months. So I love all this shit behind a computer I get this unique satisfaction when I program. But my parents are kinda pressuring me to go in bio, as usual, a doctor... They say that all this IT stuff will get me nothing. What should I do?

I personally think your parents are wrong in this case. And to prove that, programming and other IT-related jobs are increasingly popular, meaning companies want to hire people that are able to program, especially those with talent and excitement about it. You should tell them this, show them an article or two about this "rise of programming", and definitely explain to them that you want to be a programmer(or any other programming related jobs). If they still want you to pursue a career in the medical field, don't give up your own dream. Your success in the future helps you the most, after all.

IT can be about anything, if you know how to apply your programming experience. You can tell your parents you will get a Robotics diploma, and you can save the patients by making medical machines and automating doctor tasks. You can tell them you want to be an engineer.

like mentioned, IT is the future. It might mostly depend on your skills, and interest. If you aren’t interested in being a doctor, then you won’t have a good experience in being a doctor, because that’s not your interest. —
