What can be done with SQL and jquery ? What are the differences and scopes of each?

There is no similarity at all between SQL and jQuery. SQL is a database and is used for managing data. jQuery is a framework in JavaScript which allows smaller JavaScript codes (like in JS it is document.getElementById(if) and in jQuery it is $("#id")). Also jQuery allows a few more things like easy GET and POST requests.
