There are many languages for it but I will prefer you to learn:

1)HTML & CSS for animations
2) Javascript for games.

There I a free open source 3D software known as blender.
Blender is python based software so if you know python then it will be a best application for you but even if you don't know blender then also any one can access it because it is easy.
By using python you can make more things in less time.

In short Python + Blender = best project.

Blender is used for :
1) 3d modelling
2) vfx
3)Video editing
4)3d animations
5)2d animations

You can use 3d model of blender in you game.
