Download _some_ editors / IDE to find out which you like most. You'll find a lot of tips here if you search for that. For web development it'll sooner or later be useful to have a local webserver and database of your choice.

Hi, I really suggest you download a code editor like Atom which is free and open source as opposed to an IDE which is memory intensive. If you want an IDE I suggest Visual Studio Code.

For some stuff it's necessary... And "evaluating" various software to find the most appropriate is a valid approach...
