And it's good to know how big Databases manipulate data and which methods they use to have such efficiency.

They are also used in networking which is another major role for IT.

Yes it will :)
But what I suggest is to learn the fundamentals of coding first. After you learn how to create and how your program works, you can start learning shortcuts AKA ALGORITHMS to make your program robust, dynamic and memory efficient.
