Anybody knows how data is sent and requested on the web?

This question is related to network,ip,ports...,but what is the clear concept on how a device having a specific ip sends data to another device also having a specific ip.

This is a realy big an ineresting topic, i heavily recomend reading into it.
Starting with the basic concept like the OSI layers and "basic" protocols like ethernet.
