While many of the sites mentioned here are good for learning, the best way is to start coding. Go through those tutorials and try to find some small program you can write. It doesn't have to be complex. Don't wait until you are "ready" to start coding. this way you will get stuck and you can google how to solve the issues that appear. In the end you will find out that you learned much more than you might expect.
