Whats the diff. between VS vs VSC?

Whats the diff. between Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code. Im asking this question because im making my first game in Unity. I am more familiar w/ Python. What im truly asking is, is there a way to convert python (script) to c#. Or is it better to just learn c#.

as far as I know VSCode is an IDE too.
I use it for coding and compiling C#, got in intellisense and all that stuff so, isn't it an IDE?
