How do you correct a wrong answer without sounding like a troll

I recently started participating in this forum, answering questions when I can and i notice a lot of 'partial' answers or worse just plain incorrect. i feel like I'm biting my tongue alot as ill want to correct or complete the answer but im stopping myself alot because i dont want to insult the original answerer or sound like im trying to stroke my ego by 'showing them up' etc.
So what's the best option, keep quiet, post and hope im not sounding offensive, what do you do?

Just post it, better to let someone learn correctly than let them learn the wrong way. Honestly if I answered anything wrongly, I would want people to correct me.
