Are you asking because you are thinking of what to learn? Let's just say it is a bad idea to make that decision on what people like. I prefer to choose a technology based on what I want to do with it. Swift is a beautiful language but it may not be very useful in making Android apps. PHP 8 syntax is mind blowing but I don't see myself using it for desktop GUI applications. My best languages are not even on this list but having used 4 out of 5 (except Swift), here is my take on these languages. Python syntax is concise but it misses many important features like switch statements, null safety and private fields for objects. I recently started data science using pandas and seaborn and it is cool. It seems that is what Python is good for. Java is a very verbose language. It is stressful to write but the JVM is super. You are better off using Clojure or Kotlin that taps into the power of the JVM. To be continued...

Part 2 PHP is my favorite of these 5 languages. It is so much fun to write PHP 8 released 2 days ago. It has everything you desire in a multi paradigm language designed specifically for backend web development and CLI apps. The experience might not be great in areas like data science and visualisation. I started learning C# just a few weeks ago. So far it has been great but I can't really give professional advice on C#.
