I believe you would need 1 year to start understanding the C language well. This is considering that it will be your first programming language. It is important to learn programming logic, algorithms. Then study the fundamentals of the C language. Review these fundamentals. Study data structures. Go back and review the fundamentals again. This will take time. For some people it will be faster, for others it will be slower. Each person in their own time, with effort, dedication, study and constant daily practice, will certainly be able to learn the C programming language. The important thing is to be happy!
