Why are my skills being removed from time to time?

In my profile I either choose skills for myself or get skills added when I successfully finish courses. This happened for Python once for example as I finished the couse then (2016). Now the course had been updated since then I guess and I have the impression that this is why my skill is being removed because I did not finish the additional practices that came after.
Although I added the skill manually it gets kicked put each and then. Fair enough as I officially did not finish the new version... but meanwhile I finifshed at least the new Python for beginners successfully but Python still does not remain in skills. I am going to finish the others anyway but I wonder if thats ok this way or is it a bug?

Are you talking about the learner percentage or the individual skills. I didn't realise that they remove individual skills like that.

No. I am talking about the user profile.
You go to manage skills and can choose from about 40-50 skills like languages, databases, framworks, OS', and so on.
This is also being set/populated as soon as you finish a course. For example when finishing the course for Swift successfully your skill Swift is being set there.
