Will doing big data graduate scholarship program (MSc) help me in anyway for my interest in machine learning?

Or I should just focus on my machine learning self study ?
What benefits will big data give my machine learning interest?

I think big data will help you to become data analyst more than to make ML projects, it will help but in ML using big datasets will face over-fitting, in big data you will learn more about collecting data emerging then to get the patterns that help in making decisions , in ML the machine will teach herself from the data,
