What is lerp() -> [unknown module] -> Python, and where is it from?

A user on a different site wants to use the Python lerp() function in Blender. I assume this function is in one of Blender’s convenience imports, but I would rather not find out on my own (lazy). Does anyone already know what the lerp() function does and where it is from?

It may be a misspelling on the part of the user.

that is exactly the same link you posted on https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/2632402/?ref=app again with no explanation. a link to an unknown YouTube video without explanation that shows up twice looks like spamtroll, so i am not following it.
