What are the advantages of using a CMS like wordpress?

Is it possible to avoid it and use only html, CSS and Javascript? without server side languages?

Wordpress is great for users who don't know how to code. I'm not sure what you mean by avoid it though....Do you mean to just make your own website from scratch with code?

I mean one of the advantages with wordpress I've seen is parsing paths and urls. I don't know how to do that without wordpress. when I made a website using only html and css I couldn’t have a subfolder for example. or I had to copy and paste the header on every page. that was a pain in the ass
