Learn Php or not?

Question

I am taking Internet Programming course right now. And it kinda covers full-stack development. But what I didn't like about it is that prof chose PHP. Looking at trend technologies, I think that he should have opted for newer ones like Go or NodeJS. What do you think? Isn't it to waste time for learning PHP?

I totaly disagree,there may be new technology but i would bet you that php is still important

Yehh definitely it's waste of time but it's seems like there's some important of PHP cause you said you choosing Internet programming course PHP is a server side scripting language. that is used to develop Static websites or Dynamic websites or Web applications. PHP stands for Hypertext Pre-processor, that earlier stood for Personal Home Pages. PHP scripts can only be interpreted on a server that has PHP installed. so I guess you should definitely go for the PHP
