Where all does the course certificates( received at the completion of a course) find its applications?

After completing a course the certificate screen automatically comes with your name attached and you can even share it to anyone...

If this thing didn't happened to you then click the course you have completed and click on the bar where all the lesson progress appears, if you have completed that whole course you will be directed to certificate screen else you will get a button named 'continue learning'.
