hamishhr , because i don't think that Java is that great for bloody beginners. And if you only know one programming language you can't call youself a programmer. With python you can quickly write a Script and test it within seconds. Plus it's pretty close to pseudo code, so the knowledge you gain is easily portable to most other languages. Python does also oop and you can see success much quicker, which is important in the beginnend, to not lose interrest.

Too be honest šŸ™ƒ java can be a little confusing for completely new beginners, i would advice python first to gossip the fundamentals of programming then move on to other computer languages.

Avz but with python you can start right away. Install python, IDLE comes right with it. Write a few links and hit run... or pip install pgzero and half an hour later you can have a simple Windows game. So much quicker to get some results

Java is good programming language for beginners once you complete java you can learn other languages easily because java has strong syntax each and everything is defined perfectly so I recommended you to learn java first

Shivam Singh java uses classes. I think the use of classes in java in first place confused you. If yes , donā€™t worry i had the same problem too. No matter what you code in java you should use classes which makes it intuitively hard to understand why are we using classes at the first place. I had this problem too. What I did was, I learnt python to learn java. You could take the python core course here in Sololeark upto OOP ,as you are learning python only for learning java. Then you will realize why are we using classes. Good luck with your learning.

i suggest you learn from this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej_02ICOIgs Why i suggest the above one instead of Sololearn. Because while learning classes in python you will encounter a problem of what self is. This video does a great job of explaining what self is along with OOP. Shivam Singh To those who have downvoted this question. If you have donā€™t have time to answer the question . Just ignore or skip it . Doesnā€™t mean I am asking you to igonre spam questions. Yeah questions like these might have been asked . And they are still getting asked beacuse those who asked these questions havenā€™t got proper answer or those who ask didnā€™t properly researched. So intead of discouraging them by downvoting their answer. You could encourage them by pointing them to a resource which could help them. I have seen this problem in all major q and a discousion forums which are related to programming.

I'd suggest to start with something like python. Nothing to compile, good to grasp to concept and you will see sooner success. Do this for a half year to a year and then Start with java

Don Juan donā€™t mislead him . Why should he learn python for half a year. He can learn the basic concepts upto OOP in a week or less. He wants to learn java not python
