I just reached level 15 and it was updated on my profile. But when taking a challenge from a friend I noticed I was still at level 14 and needed about 150 xp to get to level 15. It's normal??

Yeah, because he sent that challenge before you reach level 15.

I just checked, I was notified to have reached level 15 5hrs ago and I was notified of his challenge 1hr ago.

Maybe, it was an old challenge but you replied later.
