See! hosting servers are just like online storage for storing your website and nothing more.
You don't need to buy it if you intend to use the webpages or the websites you created to use on your local machine or only for yourself.

But, if you want to let others view and use your website you have to make it available to everyone right? Suppose if i want to read something you wrote or post on your website the only option for me is to come to your place and sit at your pc to read it. 😄

So ,to avoid me coming to your place ..Hosting on the online server makes it available for everyone to access your page from the comfort of their home if they have internet access.

Infact you can even host the websites on your pc and make it available to everyone but, you'd need to have internet connection on your pc all the time. If you turn off your pc or there is no internet connection then other people can't reach your website

There are two things to do. Firstly buy a hosting server and buy a domain name.
Hosting server is like your pc where you store your webpages and has all the softwares needed to run your page or render.

Domain name is the links or the address that redirects your page where the webpages are stored.

Note: from my experience it is better to first decide which hosting server to choose and buy as some plans include free domain names as well so, instead of buying domain name from another company and renew it annually or as per the plan it is better to get it for free.

Also, i think hostinger provides cheaper price and no downtime at all.
Also, note not to get fooled by the unlimited bandwith stuffs.
