I Would Like To Create A Fun Project Using Machine Learning, Something Like Sentiment Analysis Algorithm Or Anything Of Sorts

Depends on what you mean by "advanced mathematics". Stastistics is a key here, no theoretical higher math is needed (although mathematically-inclined approach helps somewhat).
Data handling, mining, cleaning and intuition is essential.

Man, machine learning is a science of its own, but you kind of get on it pretty quickly, at least basic concepts. It's crafting your models to squeeze out every single bit of predicative precision, when the fun starts :)

if you can understand geometry and 3d environments than your OK. after that its all about making better short cuts.
