Why are most of my code bits that I have compiled and saved as private not visible now?

I have been using my SoloLearn account to save my private code backup for sometime now, the total collection was over 300 code bits. I had hoped that they would be safe here, since it's more convenient and also easier to run them. I had mostly web based code i.e. HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I'll be very grateful if someone here enlightens me or gives me closure, I just can't lose all my private code/code like that. Please help. Thanks.

Thomas B1046 if this was me I would contact sololearn and ask them directly. info@sololearn.com Regular users of the app would not actually be able to answer this.

It is a reasonable assumption that your codes would be preserved and saved on Sololearn, but it is not a hosting service. It is mentioned in the Content Creation Guidelines that Sololearn maintains the right to delete user content (even if it seems unfair to you). If you want to have better guarantees for code preservation, I recommend that you create a private git repository on a platform such as GitHub. I know it is a little more involved process, but your code will be safer.

About this, as BroFar suggested, please contact the Sololearn team directly through email, only they can investigate and explain why your codes disappeared.

Tibor Santa This has opened up my eyes, I had a lot of laxity in as far as storing and backing up my learning materials and projects is concerned. I already had a github repository account, but was not utilizing it. That has changed now. Thanks once more 🙏

Tibor Santa thanks, I'll look into that suggestion. My assumptions were proved wrong, though I have code bits that are 3 years old still intact on Sololearn here. Wonder why they'd delete several of my recent code bits without prior notice. Was working on many projects and also my learning materials, all gone like that. It's not fair...
