Imagine you have some text in your webpage, you update it, and you want users to be aware of which piece of text was added. Then the <ins> tag comes into the picture: it highlights the text in between.
Similarly, the <del> tag strikes the text in between, signaling a piece of text that belonged to the original version, and is now deleted.
