I do not known how the question was meant but ROM is abbreviation of Read Only Memory.The access is only for reading not for writting.It is piece of HW for pernament storage of data which are not lost if the power fells down. And world is two bytes = 16bit regardless the type of memory(ROM or RAM).

rom is pre loaded with boot loader.

RAM:
random access memory . it stores data till your computer is on.
Ram ia used by Application.
