jar file not opening in windows

hi recently I learned that I can create standalone application using bluej with .jar extension . I created a jar file it neither worked in windows nor my old java phone. In windows when I click that jar file nothing happens and in my phone it displays "invalid jar achieve".
please help😢😢😢😢

As for phone, Android doesn't support .jar extension, only .apk
