proportion competences/work success.

Question

can someone (actually working in this sector) give me a proportion to the amount of competences they have and the possibility to find a job/money earning?
i would also appreciate a differentiation from a programming language to other (like other programm skills eg.photoshop), and a personal idea about the most requested languages.
thanks to who will reply, i'm new to this world and this would give me some encouragement, i want to know if the commitment i think i have can be rewarded. ^^
