What is your experience on using vim?

If anyone is using vim or emacs could you describe how comfortable to code with it comparing to IDE? How fast you have mastered vin commands and what tips do you know to learn them?

Hi Dimon,

I am using it daily but not to replace IDE. It is quite good for fast editing text files. I still have printed cheat sheet on my desk. :)

Pegasus, no problem :) I was not expecting to win that one)) Vim is a text editor with a lot of useful commands and features aimed to increase typing and editing speed. It is not very intuitive at my opinion but very tunable and potentially may dramatically enhance coding speed. The drawback is that you need to remember a lot of keyboard shortcuts.
