difference of problem solving, language and framework

i have learn some thing such as algorithms that used to be used at the contest such as c*deforces which is i study how to use the best strategy to solve problems and few days ago i got some information from my senior that working as software engineer isnt all about problem solving but it is about how we work using some framework nah at here i need some explanation from the senior whats the main difference(if it is possible use some example) between all of that things. Thank you

Meaning of your senior is that working as programmer will need efficiency (for rentability), so in most of the cases, the task of a programmer will be to implement ready made solutions (frameworks, libraries...) to avoid spend time for reinvent the wheel ;)
