What to do after finishing a language?

I finished Java and am currently working through HTML.

Can anyone recommend what to do after finishing a language?
I don't feel like I learned much from working through Java. I feel like I learned a ton more through HTML and I have only been working through it for a few days (way less time than I spent with java). I started java thinking I'd be able to make an app or something.

Is there more advanced java that I should be learning? Where should I start?
