Is the Jdk basically the main thing you need for coding?

its just for set environment for java .... for write codes u have to install ide like netbeans or eclipse which can't be run without jdk

yupz .. cuz it is " the " developing kit.. it has all tools required to develope programs. IDE's are optional .. u can write programs using any text editor.
