A little discouraged my solo fam. Details below.

hey everyone, I'm 32, I've been a designer using drag and drops and Adobe muse. now I'm ready to get under the good and start coding and programming. when I look for what jobs want, it seems there is an army of languages and progrms to learn. like am I too old for this to start learning now? I should've start at 15 learning this.

No one is too old to learn programming. You said you are designer isn't? Well you can try learn HTML/CSS.

you should be proficient in at least one language. There is no set number of languages that you should know. Learn programming languages as the need arises. Don’t learn them for the sake of learning. You’d be wasting your time and energy. If you need to write web apps, consider PHP, Java, Python, Ruby. If you need to write mobile apps, consider Java/Kotlin and Swift. If you need to write video games, consider C++ and C#. If you need to write programs for data science and machine learning, consider Python and R. If you need to write IoT apps, consider C, Python, and Java. And so on. Only learn what you need.

More of those lately... ;) https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/527664/?ref=app Take it from a 38yo - it's never too late, you just learn in a different manner.

Good luck Karey, I'm in the same boat and just turned 33, but you're never too old to do what you're passionate about! As a side note, freecodecamp is also really good at helping to learn HTML/CSS/JS and other related things - it's basically a free course that has the goal of getting people trained & hired as Full-Stack Web Devs. And - you're in a great place right now (here at SoloLearn) to learn from anywhere and get help and support on your journey!

that's true and I have and am. it's just that companies are wanting you to know so much more languages that I never knew existed. and it brought me down a bit but I'll keep pushing. thanks for the encouragement
