What does"class" mean in CSS?

I have learnt Java, but I cannot apply the same concept of "class" to CSS.

Separate between java and css out....

They didn't have same concet tho
Ahhh what should I say? bc I bore java

class in css is just selector to htmlelement
such as .cow{} css will select htmlelements which have class attribute named with "cow"
