I think that WAMP has MySQL, so you can give it a try. WAMP can also be a local apache server. If you are looking for a Mac version of WAMP, it's called MAMP.

You could always try www.w3schools.com, if you want to refresh on SQL, they even have a "test code" button where they allow you to play around and experiment with code.
