Python tutorial halts before input completed at last question in "FUNCTION" Module Quiz

Trying to complete the Python tutorial but the module on funtions is causing me some trouble. When I answer the last question in the module quiz the program quits when I drag and drop the second element into its space. The answer should be "a & b". The program shuts down at "a & ___". I'm using an iPad2 running iOS 9.3. Has anyone else experienced thi issue.
