java, swing and layout

Question

Hello guys,

I am a beginner on java. I want to make a gui but i don't understand layout. I looked for many tuto or guide about it but i have my main frame and 2 panel inside, one superpose the other so initially i would use cardlayout but i dont want my second panel to take all the place of my frame. I want to "resize" and here i should use gridbaglayout ( i think )
And i cant see how can i make this
