What is the difference between the bold text format and the strong text format

In general, visually both are considered to be the same. But *strong* have better semantic for web parsers or SEO because it emphasize the highlighted word instead of just displaying the text in *bold* with b tag.

Bold will always be displayed as a fat text.
Strong depends on the browser how it will be displayed.

You will use the strong if you want to emphasis the word.
