SVG is graphic (it stand for Scalable Vector Graphics ;P)...

Vector graphics is better while it doesn't be enough complex to be more weighted than bitmap graphics (most of the time), and have advantage to be scalable without loosing definition (as zooming bitmaps will produce more or less pixelization)... so it's better suited to use vector graphics if you will take advantage of this ^^

In the case of your linked code, it's all right as it is ;)
