Why we have less number of womens participating in programming at degree level and more than that? What measures can we take?

Anything possible ways and methods for us to make the equal of men and women parcticipating ing programming , developing , inventing,.etc

I do not know of a solution but it is mainly due to a machismo culture of this field being for men.
While that said, some wonderful women helped this field a lot ! (COBOL was made by a woman for example)
