How do you earn XPs?

Question

Is there any post/article here that helps beginners to navigate through this application. For example what is a challenge? How do I know how it works? Does it cost me XPs if I fail in a challenge? I have lots of these small questions regarding the app and the community here.

to your question of whether you'd lose an xp for lost challenges, it depends partly on the level of your opponent:
low level: yes
higher level: almost always no
