Why do users like their own posts & codes?

I'm not talking about newcomers, I'm talking about experienced ultra full-stack high-level users. Does it make sense? Am I missing something? Should I leave likes on my own posts & codes?

Don't know reason behind that . Q. Does our own likes count ? Ans: No , not on the code neither on the posts.only +1 xp on best answers. Conclusion: Leave them they are free to upvote .

it's a creative genius actually. do this upvote every non-offensive post, code, comments you come across even your own. you will get many followers and upvote. the idea behind upvoting your own posts is to neutralize any advantage the user you upvote gets.

Suppose you are a candidate of Presidential election. Still you can vote for yourself as a responsible citizen. So What's the reason here for not upvoting yourself?

I've no idea too.. maybe just to bump up the number for fun? I remember I do it once because someone downvoted my comment for no reason. So I just put a like to turn the -1 into 0 which looks better or normal for other people. 😂

The only reason I can think of is that you get 1 more xp if your post is marked as best answer. Except for that, I don't think it is a common thing.

They just do not understand. I was guilty of it in the past. Used it to get more likes. I believe a new user is more likely to do it.

I don't. Even when I feel depressed for negative figures on my codes and posts. It's lame and embarrassing. It's like applauding yourself. Can't stand it.

If your code has many upvotes and you add yours, it gets lost in the mix and goes unnoticed. But if your code has 1 upvote and it's from you, then that's just sad. But still, why not? 😀 * And with that, he upvotes his own comment! *

I think it is mental. Maybe they think if they like their own posts & codes, others will like too. This is everywhere Facebook, Instagram and etc.. :)

Wow @Karl T. I don't know we can get 1 XP for each of the likes! @Nithiwat There's a difference between liking own post and marking own answer as best. 😉

People upvote themselves cuz they believe nobody else is gonna upvote so why not do it themselves.

I don't upvote my own posts or codes. I only upvote my own answers when they are marked as best to get that meagre 1XP.
