There’s a few differences between the Core processors and the Xeons. The Xeons are generally targeted towards non-consumer markets. Xeons are fantastic for servers. Multiple cores for doing all kinds of tasks, and they are also largely made to run in parallel with other processors. None of this means that you can’t buy a computer with a Xeon processor, they just aren’t generally intended for you. The Core processors on the other hand are generally targeted for consumers. Core i5/i7 and i9 are usually good consumer computers. These usually have higher speeds than Xeon processors but lower core counts. Higher speeds are better than more cores for consumer markets because usually they are used for one application and most applications are built for single threads. We are getting into the realm where 2, 4 or 8 cores are very common, but there aren’t always benefits to having 8 cores like there are in the server world. These kinds of differences aren’t that uncommon. A lot of times there will be nearly identical hardware, with slight differences that they sell to different markets. That’s the difference between Core i9 and Xeon.
