Is the attribute "alt" required for "img" in HTML5 ?

It is not required but it is good to add. The alt attribute is for the case, the image is not loading. So people can see, there would be an image, but it isn't loading.

Officially, alt is required but facultative, at the same time...If you don't want to add the "alt attribute" just write ("")...Of course, i quote Fronz-Tec (It is good to add)

it is required if you need a backup else the code will run perfectly without it.
