A Web designer is someone who prepares content for the Web. This role is mainly related to the styling and layout of pages with content, including text and images.

A web developer is a programmer who specializes in, or is specifically engaged in, the development of World Wide Web applications, or applications that are run over HTTP from a web server to a web browser.

Web designers simply deal with the appearance(Front end) of a website which involves site themes, templates, graphics etc while Web developers deal with the back-end of a website(stuff which you Don't see) which involves databases,data handling, Website behavior,web programming ,Content management systems etc
