Is there a great different between java and javascript or is the only equal thing the name?

Java is an OOP programming language while Script is an OOP scripting language. creates applications that run in a virtual machine or browser while code is run on a browser only. Java  code needs to be compiled while Js code are all in text.

There is. Javascript is intended to create web applications and web gadgets etc. while Java is intended to create computer programs, android apps and many more.
