Is it worth going to Uni?
I've been considering going to Uni next year to study computer science. Is there much point in going to Uni? Can I learn everything I need to know from the internet? And will employers take an unqualified but talented person seriously or opt for a graduate with a degree?

On one hand you can be the best programmer in the world but if you don't have a degree employers most likely will go for someone with one even if that person isn't as good as you! But on the other hand you can be like Bill Gates/Mark Zuckberg/(...) and just make something big and *bum* you rich without a degree! 😂

I'm currently in the same position as you! The way I see it is that although courses are available online, it won't be the same as going to uni because at uni you get to use expensive and sophisticated software, speak to extremely experienced lecturers and gain valuable team skills when you work with others. Many people have said to me "but you won't have any work experience, just. grade" but there wrong, as you can have a work placement year, gaining experience and possibly a job after uni. Also, employers would definitely accept you with a degree and experience. Uni can also be incredibly fun (so I've heard) and unlock all sorts of opportunities for you. That's why I think I'm going to go, whilst I have the opportunity to do this, I'm going to take advantage of it, and see where I can go from there!
